Cibona beat Samobor for a third straight league win

The Wolves built a commanding first-half lead to beat Samobor 73-64 and stay perfect in the SuperSport Premijer League. Four Cibona players scored 12 or more.

Cibona started better and won the first quarter 23-21, then turned the game in the second. They won it 22-11 and went into the break 13 points up (45-32), with their biggest lead, 16 points, coming at 45-29. Samobor came back in the third quarter (21-13) and cut the deficit to five points (53-58), but Cibona kept control in the final period, winning it 15-11 to secure the nine-point margin. Samobor never led at any point in the game.

Cibona started with Markus Lončar, Antonio Sikirić, Vigo Bart, Lovro Gnjidić and Vincent Trevon Mitchell. Four Wolves led the scoring. Lončar, Sikirić (6/6 from the field, plus eight rebounds) and Gnjidić (plus five assists) scored 14 points each, and Bart added 12, hitting three of his five three-pointers. Renato Serdarušić chipped in nine points, and Mitchell, though he scored just six, was a force on the glass with 10 rebounds. For Samobor, Mario Krešić scored 19, Glen Thomas Burns 15 and Brandon Dominique Garrett 13.

Cibona won the battle under the basket, out-rebounding Samobor 43-28 and adding 11 steals. Samobor shot 37.7% from the field to Cibona’s 45.9%. Official statements from the game will be published soon.
