Cibona host Galatasaray at the Dražen Petrović Hall

After a ten-year absence, the Wolves open their European season tomorrow in front of their home fans, with Turkish giants Galatasaray as the first opponent in Group B.

Cibona enters the Champions League on the back of two wins in the SuperSport Premier League and a defeat in the AdmiralBet ABA League in Ljubljana against Cedevita Olimpija, in a game that was level at halftime. That leaves Ivan Rudež's side heading into its first European game with good experience against a high-quality opponent and clear pointers on what still needs work.

Galatasaray arrive in Zagreb as one of the best-known names in European basketball and, as sporting director Marin Rožić noted after the draw, the top seed in Group B, where Cibona's other opponents are Poland's Legia Warsaw and France's Strasbourg. The Istanbul club has been coached since January by Gianmarco Pozzecco, the former Italy head coach who won the FIBA Europe Cup with Sassari, and who is under contract with Galatasaray through the end of the 2026/27 season.

"First and foremost, I'd like to invite our fans to come out in big numbers and support the team. The BCL opener gives us an attractive opponent. Galatasaray is a team built for the highest level, close to the quality of EuroLeague sides. We'll need a combination of fight and good control of the game's tempo to impose our own game on our home floor," said Cibona head coach Ivan Rudež.

"We're ready for Galatasaray, the favorites of the group. We still have one more good training session before tomorrow's game. I think we're ready — we have a packed schedule and we're preparing as best we can. But I'd also like to take this opportunity to invite all our fans to back us in big numbers at the first big home game of the season," said Cibona's Lovro Mazalin.

Tickets for the game are available on the club's official website and at the Dražen Petrović Hall box office, which is open today as well. A family package is also on offer: for every ticket purchased, one or two children under 12 get in free, and season ticket holders enter with their season tickets.

The club invites fans to come to the Dražen Petrović Hall in big numbers and back the Wolves on their return to the European stage.
