Cibona host Legia Warsaw in Round 2 of Group B of the Basketball Champions League at Dražen’s Hall tomorrow, Tuesday 20 October, at 20:00. The Polish champions arrive in Zagreb after an away defeat at Strasbourg (62:100).

The Wolves opened their Champions League campaign two weeks ago with a 96:76 win over Galatasaray, and currently sit second in the group with a 1-0 record and two points. Another win would keep them at the very top of the standings.

Cibona head coach Ivan Rudež said ahead of the game:

“A new round of the Champions League is coming up, and with it the chance to get our second win in front of a full house, which would be very important for us. Legia are the champions of Poland, and a large number of the players who won the title have stayed. They have two dominant guards, [Daniels] and [Zoriks], who are the main playmakers, and the biggest threat comes from them. I think we have to watch our defensive play and our concentration, and through better and more stable defence find a better rhythm from game to game. That is our primary goal.”

Cibona player Lovro Gnjidić added:

“We’re preparing well. We’ve had two recovery sessions and two good practices. Tomorrow we’ll continue our winning run in the Champions League, and I’m hoping for a good result.”

The game against Legia is Cibona’s second consecutive home game in the Champions League after Galatasaray, and also the second in a run of home games that began with Borac and continues with Krka, Virtus and Igokea.
