Cibona look to extend winning run in the league against Samobor

Fresh from their win over Galatasaray in the Champions League, the Wolves travel to Samobor tomorrow in search of a third straight league victory

After two league wins over Alkar and Zabok, a loss to Cedevita Olimpija in the ABA League and a memorable win over Galatasaray in the Champions League, Cibona face a new challenge. In Round 3 of the SuperSport Premijer League, they travel to Samobor to face the hosts.

Tomorrow’s game will be the first meeting between the two clubs this season and the fourth since Samobor joined the Premijer League. They met three times last season, and Cibona won all three.

Cibona head coach Ivan Rudež said ahead of the game:

“Even though they’ve opened the season with heavy defeats in the FIBA qualifiers and an 0-2 start in the Premijer League, Samobor is a team that plays good basketball. They’re fighters, with a good mix of youth and experience. We have to approach this the right way and play smart,” said Ivan Rudež.

“Samobor is a team that plays fast, with real quality and experience. We have to impose our own rhythm and energy. We want to keep the good rhythm going after our last win,” said Lovro Gnjidić.
