Cibona wants to continue winning streak and stay in second place against Dubrovnik

In the 26th round of the SuperSport Premier League, Cibona will host Dubrovnik, with whom they are tied 1–1 in head-to-head matchups.

Cibona is currently second with a 17–8 record and 42 points, but they have played two more games than third-placed Split, who stands at 17–6 (40 points). On the other hand, Dubrovnik sits mid-table (sixth place with a 13–12 record and 38 points). In the previous round, they defeated Zabok at home 89–83, thus making up for a heavy away loss to Samobor (107–76).

The last meeting between these two teams was on January 17, when Cibona won 82–77. Before that, Dubrovnik surprised and outplayed Cibona 79–63 on November 2 last year.

“We have a demanding match ahead against a quality opponent that plays well on both ends of the court. It’s a team that runs well and has a lot of experience, especially through Andrić and Dubelj. We will need to prepare well. If we come out focused, with good energy, and follow the game plan, we can secure the win,” said Cibona player Borna Katanović.

“Dubrovnik is a team playing without pressure at this stage of the season, considering they have already achieved their primary goals. That makes them dangerous if you allow them to play at their own rhythm. They read the game well and have good passers and finishers. We need to match their intensity and aim for another victory,” said Cibona head coach Ivan Rudež.

The match will be played tomorrow at Sutinska Vrela Sports Hall at 8 p.m., with a live broadcast on HKS TV. Tickets can be purchased through the CoreEvent system.
