Against Dubrava for a win at the start of the playoffs

Cibona finished the season with 25 wins and 8 losses, collecting 58 points. On the other hand, the team from eastern Zagreb recorded a 15–18 record and earned 48 points.

Interestingly, this will be their fourth head-to-head matchup. In the previous three meetings, KK Dubrava claimed two victories, while Cibona won once. It is worth noting that Cibona’s win came at the very beginning of the season, while Dubrava came out on top in the last two encounters. In their most recent game, played two months ago in Dubrava, the score remained close throughout, so another exciting and entertaining contest from start to finish could be expected.

“The Premijer League playoffs are beginning. Tomorrow at 7 P.M., I invite all Zagreb residents and basketball fans to come to the first quarterfinal game. Our team is highly motivated for the playoffs, but also because in the first round we are facing a team that defeated us this season while we were not at full strength, so motivation is certainly not lacking”, said Cibona head coach Ivan Rudež.

“We finished the regular season and ultimately secured the second position that we had been chasing, so we can be very satisfied with that. Our first playoff opponent is Dubrava, a team that certainly cannot be underestimated considering they have already beaten us twice this season. From the opening minute, we need to approach the game aggressively and impose our rhythm. We are playing in our own arena and in front of our fans, whom I would like to invite to come in as large numbers as possible and support us in the final stretch of the championship”, stated Cibona player Vigo Bart.
