SuperSport Premier League: Cibona convincing against Šibenka

As part of the 3rd round of the SuperSport Premier League, Cibona won at home against Šibenka with a score of 103:80, achieving its second victory of the season and its first in front of its own audience

Match report

Ahead of the game, a minute of silence was held in honor of Marin Mindoljević, former player of Cibona.

The Wolves’ captain, Krešimir Radovčić, opened the game brilliantly by scoring as many as 12 points in the first quarter, setting the tone for his team’s energetic start. The opening period remained close until four minutes before the end, when the scoreboard showed 16–16. Cibona then went on a run, and a three-pointer by Renato Serdarušić gave them a 26–18 lead, before the quarter ended 28–23.

In the second quarter, the Wolves raised the tempo even further. Vigo Bart hit an important three-pointer to make it 47–30, and the game increasingly tilted in favor of the home side, with Cibona extending the lead to 49–36.

In the second half, Cibona continued to play well and maintain control. Coach Damir Rudež gave opportunities to the younger players — Borna Burek made his debut, while Josip Pavković used his minutes on the floor effectively and delivered a solid performance. The game became one-sided in the second half, as the Wolves routinely maintained and increased their advantage all the way to a final +23 margin.

With this victory, Cibona demonstrated clear progress in both their play and squad depth, while KK Šibenka are still searching for form at the start of the season. The next round brings new challenges for both teams, but Zagreb fans can be pleased with what they saw tonight.
