BC Cibona hosted its traditional Media day today at the Dražen Petrović Basketball Center ahead of the start of the new 2026/27 season. Alongside the unveiling of the new adidas jerseys, the team and coaching staff had the opportunity to meet with members of the media, while the head coach and sporting director shared their impressions from preseason and outlined their goals for a season in which Cibona will compete in three competitions – the SuperSport Premier League, AdmiralBet ABA League and Basketball Champions League.
“We believe that the transformation is a significant event and an important step forward. Through this restructuring, the club is progressing in every respect. We are not only talking about the sporting side, but also about financial consolidation and investment. We will do our best to take the club to a whole new level. We are making progress in every area, including our finances and organization. Cibona is one of the biggest sports brands not only in Croatia, but in the region as well. I believe we are on the right path and that we need everyone’s support, especially that of our fans,” said Cibona Director Tomislav Šerić.
A special part of the program was dedicated to an informal gathering between the players and members of the media, which took place in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Alongside jokes and conversation, the players were happy to answer journalists’ questions and took the opportunity to get to know them better ahead of the start of the new season. The event concluded with a team photo, giving the squad its first opportunity to pose together in the new adidas jerseys for the upcoming season.
“We are looking forward to the start of the season. New challenges are definitely ahead of us. We will compete in three competitions, and the idea was to ensure as many exciting and interesting games as possible, as well as attractive opponents. We built the team with the belief that we can be competitive on all three fronts. For Cibona, it is only natural to compete for the two domestic trophies, the championship and the cup. As for the ABA League, the goal is also to be competitive and qualify for the playoffs, while in the BCL, we want to represent Cibona and Croatian basketball in a worthy manner,” added Sporting Director Marin Rozić.
