Cibona Travel to Sinj on Sunday: Title Defense Kicks Off Against Alkar

The opening round of the new SuperSport Premijer Liga season gets underway this weekend, with reigning national champions Cibona starting their title defense on the road against Alkar of Sinj. The clash between Alkar and Cibona is set for Sunday, September 27, at the Ivica Glavan-Iće Sports Hall in Sinj, tipping off at 6 PM. The game will be broadcast live on HKS TV.

"We're opening the Premijer Liga against Alkar, who traditionally play better and with more confidence on their home floor — they're young, they run a lot, so our transition defense needs to be sharp," said Cibona head coach Ivan Rudež.

"We're opening the season against Alkar either way. We know Alkar can create a real home-court atmosphere on their floor, where it's always tricky to play, but since we didn't have to travel to Podgorica, we've had enough time to prepare for this game. We want to come out aggressive and with as much intensity as possible," said Lovro Mazalin.
